CIKAS (Cycas)
Cycas Revoluta Cycas is a tropical palm which species used in ornamental horticulture.

The one shown in the picture is almost the most popular palm of the family; "Cycas revoluta". It is also called as "Sago Palm".

Cycas revoluta's dimensions are convenient to use it as an indoor plant. But, species varies up to 12m's tall (Cycas Angulata and Cycas thouarsii) in form of a palm tree.

Cycas is a long-life palm if grown in convenient environment. It's growing rate is low (i.e. 2 cm's per year). Cycas has male and female types that the male has a long cone in shape of a pineapple. The female's cone is wider and is also a housing for the seeds.
Cycas is also used to produce a special kind of flour. The unproccessed flour, leaves and seeds are poisonous.
Origins and Distribution:

South East Asia, South China,Malesia, Avustralia, Japan, East Africa and Madagaskar.
